EA to Host discussion about homophobia in gaming

According to gamepolitics.com, Madden-affcionados EA Games will be hosting a panel this Saturday, July 18th 2009 to discuss homophobia in videogame culture.

The panel itself will be hosted by the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamtion (GLAAD). The discussion will be open to the public will be held at the EA headquarters in Redwood HQ.

The topics that will be discusses include, but are not limited to:

“…How to provide safe spaces for LGBT people online, how to ensure the best policies are in place to prevent virtual attacks against LGBT people and how to educate the users of online communities about the effects of homophobia.”
